Juggling with paperwork to accurately file tax is stressful enough. And worrying about paying upfront fees to the tax accountant is cherry on top. That’s where Fee from Refund comes in – the most convenient option for sole traders, individuals and businesses offered by Aupod. It facilitates them to efficiently manage their tax obligations and tax filings without worrying about any out-of-pocket costs at the time of lodgement.
If you want to know how the Fee from refund option works for you, then you are at the right place.
What is Fee from Refund?
Fee from Refund, sometimes also called “fee from refund” or “fee deduction service” is a smart payment option that allows tax payers to have their tax preparation fees deducted from their tax refund once it’s issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This means they don’t have to pay anything upfront for using the tax and accounting platform.
Aupod provides this seamless payment option for the convenience of its clients. Instead of paying us first and then waiting for your full refund, Aupod waits with you. When your refund is approved and sent by the ATO, our fee is deducted from the refund amount, and the remainder is deposited straight into your nominated bank account.
How Does it Work with Aupod?
Using Aupod’s Fee from Refund payment option is quite easy and straightforward. Our platform is designed for ease of use, and not to forget, a real Australian accountant will professionally review your return. Here’s how Fee from Refund works:
Step 1: Go to the Aupod website and log in using your credentials.
Step 2: Upload the documents or fill out the form for the tax return, and check your tax payable or refund.
Step 3: If you have a refund amount of more than $500, you will have the option to select Fee from Refund. Upon choosing the Fee from Refund, you will authorise Aupod to deduct their decided fee from the ATO refund and transfer the rest to your provided bank account.
Step 4: If you have a tax refund of less than $500 or a tax payable, then you will not have the option to choose Fee from Refund and will be required to pay the service fee upfront.
It’s that simple! No need to worry about invoices or making a separate payment to us.
What if ATO rejects the Refund?
Aupod offers a digital platform and real accountants to streamline your tax filing and return. However, we do not guarantee the approval for a refund by the ATO. If, for any reason, ATO rejects your request for a refund, you are still liable to pay the fees along with the processing fees of $19.
Who Benefits from Fee from Refund?
The Fee from Refund feature is beneficial for a variety of clients, primarily the ones who are tight on budget and expecting a tax refund to manage thot finances without bearing upfront costs for professional tax and accounting services. Australian entities that benefit from Aupod’s Fee from Refund option include:
- Individuals: Who are short on cash or prefer not to pay out of their pockets before using tax services, especially if they are expecting a refund
- Sole traders: Who are single-handedly running their business operations and have an inconsistent income stream, and find paying an upfront fee challenging during their leaner periods.
- Small to Medium Size Businesses (SMEs): Who might be managing their cash flows carefully and would want to keep their funds for business operations rather than paying upfront for tax services.
